Esterbrook Fountain Pens

The Esterbrook Pen company was founded in 1856 by Richard Esterbrook, a stationer by trade. The Esterbrook Steel Pen Factory was established in 1858 taking advantage of the introduction of steel nibs.

Esterbrook fountain pens have been much sought after in recent years after a time where they were virtually shunned by the collecting market as one of the cheaper, less glamorous items. The fact is, though, Esterbrook fountain pens are a consistently well-made fountain pen that are extremely reliable.

The popular J series of the Esterbrook range was manufactured from the late 1940s through the late 1950s. The J series were manufactured in three sizes, the J full-size, the LJ or Long Slender and the SJ or Short slender. The colors available for the J series fountain pens
were solid black, marbled red, marbled blue, marbled gray, marbled brown (copper color), marbled green and solid olive drab.
